Onesie Sugar Cookies for a Baby Shower

Here are a few photos of the sugar cookie favors I made for a baby shower.  These cookies were so much fun to decorate!  I used my favorite sugar cookie recipe and decorated the cookies with royal icing.  The onesie cookie cutter is from Michael’s, and the rattle cookie cutter is from Sur La Table.  Enjoy!

Karen – they are so cute! The mother-to-be and the grandmothers-to-be and all the shower guests loved the cookies. We used them as favors for the guests. I can’t thank you enough.

Your cookies are incredible! I was reading your How-To post and just wanted to ask how do you create patterns inside the flooded part? For example in these baby girl cookies you have some cookies that have white dots with a lilac outline how do u create this effect? Please advise it would be much appreciated! :)

To create dots: While the flood icing is still wet, take another color of icing (using the “flood” icing as opposed to the thicker icing used to outline cookies) and squeeze dots onto the still-wet cookie. Then let the cookie dry and the dots will dry flat. Hope that helps!
